HIS CAN BE USED FOR DODGING MULTIPLE ATTACKS. Even without a CS Attack.
If there is a CS (Colony Ship) on the way to your city, first and foremost, you want to dodge all attacks prior to the CS. The CS is the only one you want to defend against. Station attack & defense troops in a city on the same Island that you are on (could be yours or in support of someone else). Do not send them on transports if possible. Its quick and easier than working with them from another island. Write down the travel times of both your slowest troop that you will dedicate to offense and your slowest troop that you will dedicate to defense.
Station LS (Light Ships) and Biremes in a separate city that is not under attack. Same rules, write down the travel time to return with LS and Bireme. Remember, each one has a different speed so they won’t be the same.
Now that you've removed all of your troops from your city, and have verified Colony Ship arrival time, do the math and work out travel times.
You want to release your Defensive troops (going by the slowest troop speed… more than likely Hoplites) to return home 5 or so seconds BEFORE the colony ship.
You want to release your Offensive troops (going by the slowest troop speed..) to return home 5 or so seconds AFTER the Colony Ship arrives (*KEEP IN MIND* If you do not release them before the Colony Ship lands, unless the person is online to release them, you will not be able to while the conquest is taking place.) In all of this time you always want to do the same with Biremes and Lights Ships.
Release the defenses to return home before the Colony Ship, the attack troops after colony ship. What happens is, you've taken their clearing waves out of the equation. That way you can fight the Colony Ship head on. Your defenses will thin his attack troops & ships, if not deter it completely. If the Colony Ship sticks, the returning attack troops will attack immediately... more than likely before they get support in… thus giving you another shot at it. Same with the Light Ships. If you discover that there is only 1 Colony Ship being sent, you can dedicate all forces to this little equation. Land all defenses before the CS, and all attack after the CS and you will greatly increase your chance of killing it. | |
